A personal bike riding challenge
The Five Peaks Challenge offers two riding length options:
you can choose to ride the shorter 83 km route or the longer 113 km route, both include six peaks.
Tailor your ride by selecting as many or as few peaks as you like, allowing you to customise both the distance and climbing intensity.
This is your personal challenge, so feel free to select as many or as few of the six peaks as you wish, and ride a distance that suits you, ranging from 57 km (with no peaks ridden) to 113 km.
Electric assist e-bikes are welcome.
If you are unable to participate as a rider, we would greatly appreciate your
assistance as a valued volunteer.
Join us in Canberra and make a weekend out of it. Forrest Hotel and Apartments is offering a special deal for riders.
Profits from the event goes to support selected charities including
- Rotary Oceania Medical Aid for Children providing surgical treatment for children in Australia and New Zealand
- The Early Morning Centre that supports homeless people in Canberra
- Australian Rotary Health for mental health research and Indigenous scholarships

The
Murrumbidgee Canberra Rotary Club organises this non-competitive cyclo-sportive bike riding event as a fundraiser. The event, previously run by the Woden Rotary Club until 2022, when it merged with the Canberra East Rotary Club to create the Murrumbidgee Canberra Club.
This challenging event invites participants to conquer the six peaks of Canberra: Mount Stromlo, Red Hill, Mount Pleasant, Mount Ainslie, Black Mountain, and Dairy Farmers Hill in the Arboretum. Originally named the 'Five Peaks Challenge' when it began in 2004, the addition of Dairy Farmers Hill in 2015 expanded the Challenge to include six peaks, providing a 20% bonus of peaks. Since 2025, the route has excluded Coppins Crossing due to increasing traffic on that road due to urban sprawl.
